A Very Darwin Christmas Pageant is a festive favourite in Darwin.
Held annually in November, the pageant is a family-friendly event that marks the beginning of the festive season in Darwin City, while celebrating and bringing together our thriving local community.
The 2024 parade featured 53 Christmas themed floats which were created and led by local community groups, schools, sporting clubs, religious organisations, and businesses. Float decorations and themes ranged from “A Very Darwin Christmas” theme to traditional Christmas delights – the parade showcases the creativity and endless festive spirit of the Darwin community.
Following the parade, attendees enjoyed live entertainment from local performers, before the Lord Mayor’s annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree which officially marks the beginning of the festive season in our beautiful, tropical city.
This beloved event has cemented itself as a new Christmas tradition for locals, and if you’re anything like us, you’re already counting down the days until the next pageant.
