As excitement builds for the A Very Darwin Christmas Pageant, you may be wondering what to pack to make the most of your day in the heat. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
To make packing for a sunny, fun-filled Pageant day easier, we’ve put together a handy list of what to bring to ensure you stay comfortable, cool, and ready for the festive fun!
What to Pack for Pageant Day
Comfortable Seating: Blankets, towels, or low folding chairs – comfort is key! Bring something comfy to sit on while you wait for the parade to start. A cushion or rug can also help you stay cool on the ground.
Light, Layered Clothing: It’s likely to be a hot day, but mornings can still be cool. Dress in light, breathable layers that can easily be removed as the temperature rises. Choose clothing made from natural fabrics like cotton to keep you comfortable throughout the day.
Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are must-haves! Even if it’s not super sunny, UV rays can still be strong, so make sure you’re protected from head to toe – and don’t forget to reapply sunscreen during the day!
Hydration is Key: Reusable water bottles are a must! There will be free refill stations along the route, so fill up your bottle before you leave home and keep it topped up throughout the day. If temperatures are set to soar, consider freezing your water bottle overnight for a refreshing chill.

Chill Out with Chalk: While you wait for the Pageant to start, the kids can get creative! Pick up some free colourful chalk from the roving chalk artists and let them decorate the ground with fun drawings. It’s a great way to keep them entertained while the excitement builds!
